The volume of production of the Kaluga pharmaceutical cluster for the year exceeded 12 billion rubles
More than 12 billion rubles was the last year the volume of production of the Kaluga cluster "Pharmaceutics, biotechnologies and Biomedicine", compared to 2015 year, this figure increased 2.5 times. This was explained in the framework of expert discussion VIII of the Gaidar forum "Russia and the World: the choice of priorities," Deputy Governor of Kaluga region Vladimir Popov. As reported January 14, the correspondent of IA REGNUM in the press service of the regional government, in 2016 the decision of the Ministry of economic development of Russia, the Kaluga pharmaceutical cluster is included among the 11 clusters of the leaders of the investment attractiveness of the world level.

According to Kaluga Deputy Governor, the four major companies of the pharmaceutical cluster become residents of SKOLKOVO. "We managed to build a chain, including training, development and introduction of innovative products, mass production and promotion of finished products," — said Vladimir Popov.
As reported IA REGNUM, Kaluga innovation cluster, formed in 2011, currently has 56 participating companies, including the largest pharmaceutical factories of foreign companies and domestic companies. In the cluster also 38 small innovative enterprises. The growth of production volume of the cluster substantially exceeds the growth of other sectors of the regional economy and the Russian market of medicines.
The result of realization of strategy of development of innovation cluster "Pharmaceutics, biotechnologies and Biomedicine" of the Kaluga region will be achieving by 2020 an increase of volume of investments — about 10 billion rubles, as well as works and projects in the field of scientific research and development — not less than 1,3 billion rubles. The number of products shipped by organizations for 2016-2020, will exceed 50 billion rubles.
By 2020, the Kaluga pharmaceutical cluster is planning to become Russia's largest cluster in the field of "Life Sciences" (Life Sciences is an open environment that enables researchers in the field of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, genomics and academic research, to transform various data into scientific discovery and new treatments for diseases).
